Announcements:

 
1) FYI - 7th and 8th grade students (and staff) who are participating in Spirit Wear Week may have hats on as part of their attire - that's okay!
Staff may have jeans on - that's okay, too!

2)  The next drawing for YAC readers and Maine Student Book Award readers will be Wed., Dec 21.  Get those reviews in!

3)There will be no 7th grade girls basketball practice today.

4) NO Fiber/Knitting club this week.

5) NO Newspaper, garden club or yearbook club this week..

6) There will be NO Cheering TODAY.

7) Lego Robotics is done until Spring.  It will be announced when it starts up again.

3) The BEMS hockey B team beat South Portland over the weekend 6-2. Goals score by Lucas LaForest, Charlie Fothergill, Darren Haskell, Grayson Krause, and Cadence Howard.
The A team was asked to play a Scarborough team from a division higher up and beat them 5-1. Goals scored by Logan Caron, Tyler Snell, Eddie Thurston, and Hayes Sweeney.

4) no Fiber/Knitting club this week.

1) There will be a civil rights team meeting today after school in Mrs. Jones room (11).

2) The MS hockey A team beat Hebron Academy 3-0 with goals from Isaac Shaw and Logan Caron.

The MS hockey B team had a tough 4-3 loss against Cape Elizabeth with Grayson Krause scoring all 3 of the Scots goals.

1) Student Council is sponsoring a Food Drive to help the residents of MSAD 6!  Items collected will be going to local Food Pantries.

When:  Last day is TODAY December 9th!
What:  Non-Perishable Food Items - Canned/Boxed Goods; Toiletry Items
Where:  Boxes will be in each clan!

Please help us to help others!

2)  The last Collection date for ski/snowboard is Friday, December 9.
All money and paperwork is due by this time.
Mrs. Rosier will be outside of the main office
7:10 - 7:40 collecting paperwork and money.  
All information can be found on the website or on the bulletin
board outside of the copy room.

3) There will be a civil rights team meeting next Tuesday, December 13th after school in Mrs. Jones room (11). 

Report Cards:
Students are being sent home with First Trimester report cards this afternoon.  Parents will continue to also have access to their children’s progress and report cards electronically through the parent portal. All scoring is reported out in terms of your child’s progress in meeting specific learning standards. New this year, we have separated out Guiding Principles (habits of work) on a separate reporting sheet in an effort to help the report cards be more reader friendly. Keep in mind that students have continued opportunities to improve their scores on learning standards into the next trimester.

4)  The MS hockey A team beat #2 South Portland 6-0. Dom Zimmel and Bryson Pomerlue earned the shutout in the net.  Goals were scored by Logan Caron, Tyler Snell, Tayte Harris, and Eddie Thruston.
 Porter Krause earned the shutout for the B team as they beat Noble 6-0. Goals were score by Colin Oertel, Lucas Laforest, and Charlie Fothergill.

The BEMS hockey B team beat Falmouth 4-1. Goals were scored by Nick Vallee and Lucas Laforest.

The BEMS hockey A team won over Maranacook 5-0. Bryson Pomerleau earned the shut out. Goals were scored by Issac Shaw, Hayes Sweeney, Tayte Harris, and 2 by Logan Caron.

No Knitting and Fiber club today.

There is NO Yearbook Club meeting this week. Our next meeting is Tuesday after Thanksgiving.

There is no Garden Club today.

There will be a Civil Rights Team meeting next Tuesday, November 29th in room 11.

5) The 4th Annual BEMS Mustache Movember is currently underway! Anyone able to grow a mustache should participate! Simply grow a mustache over the course of the month of November, and there will be a vote--the ballots for which will cost $1 each--at the end of the month. This year, it will be after Thanksgiving break! Kids and adults can vote on their favorite mustache, and the winner will win the coveted mustache trophy! The money goes to charity. Which charity, you ask? Good question. A good one.

6)  In honor of our BEHS Football team playing in the state championship on Saturday, Friday is spirit day.. Please wear your green and white! BE PRIDE

1) 8th grade boys basketball and cheering tryouts will begin today, November 14.  Basketball report to the Murchie gym and cheering to the cafeteria after second wave.

2) There will be a civil rights team meeting this Tuesday, November 15th after school in Mrs. Jones room (11).

3) The first jazz band rehearsal will be Tuesday, November 15th.​

4) There will be a sixth grade dance next Wednesday, 11/16.  Tickets will go on sale on Monday and will be $5.  Tickets can be purchased at the door.

2) This Friday, the 4th, will be "Hat Day".  Students may pay a dollar to wear a hat.  The proceeds will go to assist a family of one of our students who lost all of their belongings in a fire this past weekend!

4) Order yearbooks online with a credit card at jostens.com, or with cash or check in Room 83. Hardcover yearbooks are 25 dollars, and softcover are 20 dollars. Make checks to BEMS Yearbook.
