and placed 7th out of 14. An impressive showing
for the conclusion of our first fully competitive
chess season. BEMS has grown to be the
largest Championship team in the State, and
as expected our students did our school proud.

the high school level to complete our high
school team, and went 1 and 3, gaining a
point for our high school team which faced
some very tough opposition against Brewer,
Westbrook, John Bapst, and Maine School
of Science and Mathematics. 8th graders Ethan
Freeman, Justin Wadsworth, Jace Sellick
and Anthony Johnson we're joined by 7th grader
Nicholas Freeman with a 2 and 2 record for the day.
Veronica Shore (8th), Maia Kane (7th), and
Jace Anastacio (6th) each won one and
tied one for a record of 1-2-1.
8th graders Cameron Boston and Tanis Hartery,
and 6th grader Kaiden Tillman each one
one game, going 1 and 3.
6th grader Finley Whiting drew the Short straw,
facing stronger opponents in all of his game for 0 and 4,
