The Duct Tape Challenge

Are you proud of the good ol’ Buxton Chrome? How about the old adage, “if it’s broke, duct tape it!” Or, “In duct tape, we trust?” Well, then please, pay attention. Would you like to see a principal duct taped to a wall? I’ll say that again, Would you like to see a principal duct taped to a wall?  I know I would!

Baillie Clan will be hosting a fundraiser to help this dream become a reality! Mr. Harris has graciously volunteered to be the target of our duct tape aspirations, and will literally be taped to the wall during the whole school assembly, next Friday, April 17th.

Sales will be held during homeroom and everyone, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade, student and teacher alike,  is invited to participate. Each dollar paid will sponsor one foot of tape to be used in making Mr. Harris and the wall, one and the same! Show your support and school spirit, and join us in this duct tape madness!

Don’t worry either, all that duct tapey goodness will be collected and recycled into a collection of duct tape products, showcasing this humble adhesive’s amazing versatility!

Game Club will be on the April 15th.

Get your running shoes on for the Great Scot Trot this coming Sunday.  Race starts at 9:00 AM, and it benefits our own community with scholarships.  C'mon!  Show your stuff!  That's 9:00 AM this coming Sunday, for the Great Scot Trot!  Be there!

Reminder that Monday is Opening Day at Fenway and our school is celebrating "Dress for Sox-Cess Day".  Pay $1.00, or more, to wear Red Sox hats and/or clothing - all the money will go to The Jimmy Fund and Dana Farber Institute.  Both organizations do so much to help  people who are suffering from cancer - they also offer a great deal of support to  families.  Any student who makes a contribution will be entered in a raffle - a $25.00 gift certificate to Olympia will b e given to one 6th grader, one 7th grader, and one 8th grader. Winners will be drawn at the April 17th school assembly.  The homeroom that collects the most money will be awarded a 100 gift certificate of their choice.  Each staff member who contributes $5.00 or more will be entered into a raffle for a $25.00 Olympia gift certificate.  Let's work together to exceed last year's contribution of $1,500!!
