February 4, 2016

Announcements:
  • Weekly Trash Talk:  Remember liquids are heavy and cost our school a lot of money!  Drink ALL of your liquids at lunch, or donate your unopened container to the Share Table, or at least dump remaining liquid in the white pails in the cafeteria.
  • BEMS is holding its first annual piano recital in the band room.  This is an opportunity for students who are pianists, but not necessarily in band or chorus, to show their talent.  Interested students should see Mrs. Linnell for an application and more information.  The deadline to sign up is March 1st.
  • Friday will be Hat Day for students and staff. Wear a hat, pay a $1.00.  All money collected will be used to purchase a gift certificate to Hannaford to help a family in the district that has recently undergone a traumatic event.
  • There are a couple of spots left the the BEMS Swim Club.  That begins on February 22nd.  Please sign up with Mr. Laprise if interested.
  • Winter Pathfinders meets Tuesday and Thursday in Mr. Pease’s room.
  • 7th and 8th graders:  Remember the YAC program finishes at the end of February.   Come to the library to get your next YAC title!
  • Yearbooks are now $25 for hardcover or $20 for paperback — order ahead of time so you are guaranteed to get one! Go to jostens.com or see Mr. DeMaris in Room 83.
  • Next week is spirit week.  On Monday wear your favorite sport’s team jersey w/ sports team hat, Tuesday Tie dye, Wednesday is wacky day, Thursday is camo or flannel shirt day (no PJs), Friday is Green and White day.

STUFF THE BUS this Saturday at Plummer's Shop 'n Save for the District Backpack program. 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. The MSAD #6 Transportation Department is collecting non perishable food items to help with the 160 students on the program each week. Donate healthy food and snack items that students are able to prepare themselves. (ex: mac & cheese, granola bars, juice boxes, canned items). No glass or candy please. Let's get together as a community and help the kids!
